Frequently Asked Questions
Slingshots are a three-wheeled open-air motorcycle manufactured by Polaris. Because of the vehicle having three wheels instead of four, it will handle differently than an automobile.
We currently have automatic transmission Slingshot only.
The state of Texas does not require you to have a motorcycle license to drive a Polaris Slingshot, but Polaris does recommend all drivers and passengers to wear an approved full-face helmet and always fasten seatbelts. See below “Will I need a helmet."
Our team recommends you arrive about 10-15 minutes before your scheduled pick up time. This will ensure plenty of time to review the slingshot and complete any remaining paperwork prior to.
In the state of Texas, you are not required to wear a helmet when riding motorcycles. However, we highly recommend all our customers to wear provided helmets to ensure best safety practices.
Customers are required to provide a valid driver’s license (must be 25 or older), provide proof of full coverage insurance and place a $500.00 deposit.
For every hour the vehicle is late, please add an additional $40.00 to your trip total. If you would like to extend your reservation, please contact our support team and we will be more than happy to make any accommodations that are possible.
Fill'er up! Our slingshot is rented with a full tank of REGULAR gas. Unless specified on a promotion or special offer, it must be returned with a FULL take of REGULAR gas. Now, if you like you can leave the hassle to us and for $40 we will handle the refueling of the slingshot. Our manual slingshot require 91 Octane fuel or higher.
You are allowed to drive in Austin City Limits only we will provide recommended routes upon request.
We do not have a physical address, but we will send you a location upon booking. Please let us know if we can accommodate you by bringing the slingshot to you.
ATX Slingshot Showstoppers has a strict no refund policy due to high demand and booking services we provide to our customers. Only rescheduling of the rental is allowed.
All forms of credit cards and debit cards. No cash please.
Absolutely! Just like renting a car, we check the unit over before and after the rental time period, so everyone is on the same page regarding the condition of the Slingshot before and afterwards. Deposit is $500 but there is no charge to your card, simply a temporary hold.

It cannot exceed 250 pounds per seat
The point person or driver must be at least 25 years old. Since the vehicle is rented out with a full tank of premium fuel, you must ensure that the vehicle is returned with a full tank of premium gas.
For Drivers:
Your designated driver must have a valid Driver’s License
For Passengers:
It is recommended that all passengers can rest their feet comfortably on the floor.
We require all of our customers to meet the following general requirements:
- You must have a current, valid U.S. or State, or International drivers license.
- You must be at least 21 years of age
- You must demonstrate adequate riding skills.
- You agree not to allow anyone other than yourself or other authorized renters under your rental agreement to operate your rental slingshot.
- You must have a valid MAJOR credit card to put on file, If you do not, then we do REQUIRE a $500 deposit to be held during the rental period via debit card. This will be refunded after the rental has been inspected and cleared of no damages.
- We are by online reservation only: You must complete a reservation online in order to secure your rental.
- Under no circumstances will we cancel another customers reservation in order to accommodate your reservation, regardless of the number of vehicles rented or duration of the rental.
- We want you to enjoy the full experience of the Slingshot. Be safe, be caring, and have fun!
- OUR #1 Rule: NO burnouts or donuts will be tolerated. We take note of the tire thread counts and will bill you for a new tire if there is any signs of such action.
We require all of our customers to meet the following insurance requirements:
- Insurance is provided for the slingshots
- Medical insurance is not provided and is the responsibility of the customer.
- If for any reason our slingshot gets damaged the amount needed for the repair will be deducted out of your security deposit
- All coverage and waivers are subject to the terms and conditions of the rental contract and do not include coverage for property, personal or otherwise, or damage as a result of negligence on the part of the renter or passenger for any illegal use of the motorcycle or its use under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If you are ill, or sick, or on any prescription or over the counter medication you cannot operate our motorcycles.
- Keep in mind you are responsible for the operation of your rental slingshot.
